ABOUT MAJESTIC FOOTBALL CLUB
The Majestic Soccer Club was founded in 1982 in Atlanta, GA. The club has a long and successful history as being one of the best and oldest existing amateur men's soccer club in Georgia. The Majestic Soccer Club’s philosophy is to play serious soccer, but equally important are the friendships formed, because soccer at the amateur level should be fun. Part of that history was Charley Krawczyk. Charley was on the Atlanta club in the 1990s as it was transitioning from a small D3 team to the powerhouse club it is today.
Charley moved to Columbia in the late 1990s and was looking for a place to play. He registered with the Central League-SCASA and was placed on a new team consisting of new players without a home. The first nomination for the team name "The Leftovers" was abandoned when Charley explained his vision of creating a new Majestic type team in Columbia. Based upon the similar philosophy of good soccer with good people, Charley and his ragtag group of teammates formed a bond and some of those players stayed with the club for more than 20 years. With the help of his Majestic friends in Atlanta, kits were provided for the new team and Majestic Columbia got its start. They may not have always been successful on the pitch, but they were never defeated in the pub afterwards. Over time the Majestics expanded to multiple teams, in 11v11, 6v6, women’s, Co-ed and over 30/45 leagues. They promoted up the ranks all the way up to Premier. They have won many division and league championships in that time and created many life long relationships. Majestic SC remains today one of the oldest and most successful clubs in the league. As Charley aged out, eventually the keys to the kingdom were handed over to Kyle Gibson who has continued to maintain much of the club until this day.

In 2015, at the ripe old age of 30, Sterling Dye entered the fray. Sterling had never played soccer in his life at the time, but was looking to stay fit and up for the challenge, so began the quest to join a team. As an athlete and former college baseball player, Sterling emailed the league president looking for a team to join, with the caveat that he had never kicked a ball before. A "Leftover" if you will, Sterling's contact info was sent to Charley and Majestic in Division 3. Full circle.
The team was a mix of 20 somethings to 50 somethings. Over the years, under Kyle's leadership, Majestic won the Division 3 championship and were promoted to D2 and then to D1. Eventually Majestic won Division 1 and were promoted to the top division, the Premier League. Majestic was at a crossroad. There was concern over the abilities and desire of the current players to compete with the youth, speed, and physicality of the Premier League. A decision was made to reload the Premier league team and create Majestic FC while the players who were reluctant to promote created a new Majestic SC team in a lower division. One of Majestic FC's players, Miles Silber took the reigns to retool the roster and Sterling took care of the behind the scenes administrative duties. Sterling along with Miles' help, worked to give Majestic FC its own identity within the club, so changes were made like creating new badges and color schemes, but kept the tradition, history and respect that came with the Majestic club name. Thus Majestic FC and the Majestic Club concept was born, and since its formation in 2020, Majestic FC has gone on to win multiple league and playoff championships. Majestic FC has also had success in various national tournaments such as the Carolinas Cup in Winston-Salem, NC in the Gold Division where the team placed second in their group against some of the best amateur teams in the nation, as well as taking home the championship in the 2024 Carolinas Cup Memorial Day 8v8 Tournament in Charleston, SC.
Historically, the team has consisted of a fair number of local lads, but we welcome teammates from all walks of life and locations including many international players. On the pitch we strive to be competitive while still keeping the experience fun. We have former college players, former professional players, former high school stars, state champions, and players who have never kicked a ball. Football/Soccer unites us. Our motto is 'Elite Vibes, Elite Banter, Elite Footy'. We have a no jerks rule, regardless of their soccer ability. Beers post matchup is semi-mandatory and always lively. Our players make life long friends and have attended each other's weddings, baby showers, sporting events together, etc. The bond goes far beyond the 90 minutes on the pitch. That is what Majestic is all about. It is amateur soccer, but it’s so much more than that. From Atlanta to Columbia, Majestic is a way of life.
